Description: Three nicely spaced flowers on one 5.2 cm inflorescence, originating from the base of a pseudobulb, and three buds on one immature inflorescence; three fans of seven to eight leaves, largest leaf 2.9 cm x 63 cm, three ovate leafless backbulbs 13 cm X 14 cm, grown in bark in 15-cm plastic pot; flower white; sepals light pink cast, tiny dark pink speckles proximally; petals short red line mid-rib distally; lip dark burgundy splotches throughout, overlaid yellow centrally, callus yellow, dark burgundy splotches; column white, anther cap white; substance firm; texture matte; reference www.holalanvietnam.org, Hoi Hoa Lan Viet Nam Cymbidium sanderae by Dang Buiafer plant ID; origin Vietnam; awarded for color of white with attractively patterned dark burgundy spots; this should invalidate award 20194134, which was awarded to a Cymbidium parishii. |
