Description: Thirty-two flowers and 69 buds on 14 up to 4.2-cm inflorescences; borne on a scandent, rhizomatous, leafless plant; inflorescences arising from the junction between rhizome and roots; dorsal sepal erect, widely elliptic, acute, yellow-brown; lateral sepals slightly reflexed, widely elliptic, acute, yellow-brown; petals minute, triangular, light green-brown; lip white, midlobe obcordate, spur 0.5 cm in length, yellow-brown; column erect, orange, anther cap orange; substance thin; texture matte; awarded as an unusal species for North American culture; general appearance mostly roots; an interesting example of a leafless orchid. |
